Jillian Silva, ICCE, ICCD Congratulations on your expected arrival! We know the birth of a baby is also the birth of a family. Sharing the adventure of childbirth can be both exciting and mystifying and the more knowledge you have the less mystery there will be! Please allow me to help you learn about this process. I have been a certified childbirth educator since 1995, and have taught at the YWCA, privately, and at various hospitals.
Basics Childbirth Class: This a one day, 6 hour class on a Saturday. This class will include anatomy/physiology. Stages of labor, when to call your Doctor. Variations of labor and medical support. Cesarean birth and more. An overview and practice of breathing and relaxation techniques. Positions to enhance labor will be demonstrated. Postpartum care. Tour of labor and delivery at Seton Medical Center. These classes will be on a Saturday from 8:30am-3:00pm, with a break for lunch.
Best time to take the childbirth series
The recommendation for when to take the class is to have the series COMPLETED
about a month before your due date. (For example, take the month you are due in
and subtract 2 months). That month would be the ideal month to start your class!
Fast and convenient registration can be done right here. Please choose The Basics class where you can reserve your time slot and make secure payment. If you have any concerns or issues with the online scheduler, you can contact me at or by phone at 512-773-2375. You can also visit my website at jilliansilva.com
I look forward to seeing you soon!
