On September 18th, Dr. Claire Hoverman of the OB/GYN Group of Austin is excited to expand her practice to Southwest Medical Village (5625 Eiger Road, Austin, TX, 78735), which is located between Southwest Parkway and West William Cannon Drive.  She looks forward to joining Dr. Michelle Gooch in serving the women of Southwest Austin.

“I love South Austin, it’s a good mix of new and old Austin and Southwest Medical Village makes for easy access for patients from that area to see their OB/GYN,” said Dr. Hoverman.  She hopes the expansion will help patients who live in the area have a smoother and quicker commute to appointments.

Dr. Hoverman will see patients at Southwest Medical Village on Monday afternoons and all day on Thursdays.  She will still see patients at the OB/GYN Group of Austin Central Location (Seton Medical Park Tower, 1301 W. 38th Street, Suite 300, Austin, Texas 78705) on Monday mornings, Tuesdays and Fridays.

Learn more about Dr. Claire Hoverman and what makes her approach to obstetrics and gynecology unique:

What drew you to The OB/GYN Group of Austin?

I went to medical school with Dr. McCoin and wanted to join a group that delivered at Seton Medical Center and had an excellent reputation. This way, I get the best of both worlds by working with colleagues that are friends and providing care in an excellent medical center.

What would you like every patient to know?

I love to give guidance and help you through whatever brings you to the office. Whether it be pregnancy, irregular periods, menopause, or weight loss, you are in charge of your health so I encourage you to ask questions and have a conversation with your health provider. Your physician is here so that you can make the best decision for your life, your family and your health.

What differentiates your approach to practicing obstetrics and gynecology from other providers?

I hope I am not too different from other providers in that I practice evidence based medicine tailored to each woman. I try to make you leave the office having a positive experience and with a full understanding of what is happening with your body and what the plan for care will be going forward.

What is your favorite part of your workday?

Walking into an exam room and greeting people. Whether it’s a new patient or an existing one, each person is an opportunity for me to help someone make their lives a little better.

What daily healthy habits do you practice?

I run on a regular basis and do a boot camp. I try to eat food that I cook at home as much as possible and I make myself a smoothie every morning because it’s the only way I can really get in all my servings of fruits and veggies in a day.

What most excites you about the future of women’s health care?

I am excited about women being more comfortable about their bodies and vocalizing their struggles. With the use of social media, it is easier for women to know they are not alone when it comes to problems with their bodies. Again, if something doesn’t feel right come get checked out. It will help you sleep better at night knowing everything will be alright!
