Gretchen Palmer is a certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner joining The OB/GYN Group of Austin.  She is thrilled to collaborate with Dr. Michelle Gooch in serving women of Austin at the Southwest Medical Village location.

Gretchen graduated Cum Laude from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She continued her education at The University of Cincinnati where she obtained her masters in the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program. Gretchen is Board Certified through the NCC – National Certification Corporation.

Gretchen has over 22 years of Obstetrics and Gynecology experience in all aspects of female care at hospitals, in private practice, and in childbirth education. She has worked in Labor and Delivery, served as a staff nurse for our practice and taught childbirth education for over 10 years prior to receiving her Nurse Practitioner’s license in 2010.

Gretchen has a passion for the Ob/Gyn specialty and the patients she serves.  At The Ob/Gyn Group of Austin, Gretchen will provide Preconception and prenatal care along with comprehensive gynecological care including well woman exams, management of pelvic pain, management of irregular menstruation and menopausal symptoms, STD testing, contraceptive care and overall women’s health counseling. Gretchen also specializes in the treatment of urinary incontinence, focusing on OAB treatment and therapies.

A resident of Austin, Gretchen is married to Scott Palmer and has two wonderful children. In her leisure time she enjoys Longhorn and A&M sports, running, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is an active member of her church and volunteers at both her son’s school – Regents School of Austin and for her daughter’s sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta at Texas A&M.
