I was inspired to work in Obstetrics and Gynecology in medical school when I realized it was the perfect combination of everything I loved about medicine. I am able to work with a generally healthy patient population and become a partner in their medical care. I love that I get to know and care for women throughout the various stages of life. I begin with preventative health care in the teen years, follow women through pregnancies and childbirth and then help them through the menopausal transition.
I am passionate about this field of medicine because it allows me to practice preventative medicine and teach women how to prevent disease and optimize their health. I also enjoy being a part of the childbirth process and watching families grow and develop.
My relationship with patients is important to me because I believe trust and confidence in your provider is essential to providing optimal healthcare. I want women to know that I truly care about them and their health and will always strive to be the best physician I can be for them.
I feel very fortunate to have grown up here in Austin. I love everything this city has to offer. I enjoy kayaking on Lady Bird Lake, running the Hike and Bike trail and taking in the live music scene.
At a patient’s first visit they can expect me to take a thorough health history, explain any procedures and tests needed, perform an exam and give a detailed explanation of their plan of care. I also leave plenty of time for patient questions and education.
My favorite part of being a physician is the relationships I develop with my patients. It is fun to know people through all the stages of their lives and to help them maintain good health.
I enjoy reading, running, cooking and spending time with my family.
